We strongly believe that women play more and more significant roles in the widely understood industry. We strongly support this trend \u2014 diversification means the change of the optics \u2014 finally, women will not be treated as strangers in this business \u2014 now often perceived as man\u2019s world. That is why we have launched \u201eWomen can do IT\u201d, a project presenting female leaders, managers, experts, and specialists from the member companies of SoDA.<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d211fa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d211fa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"341c\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">We\u2019re talking with\u00a0<strong class=\"ki jk\">Agnieszka Barbara D\u0105browska<\/strong>\u00a0from SoftServe Poland, who juggles multiple responsibilities in\u00a0various IT areas from different areas of IT.<\/p>\n<p id=\"1e7e\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"ki jk\">What role do\u00a0you play in\u00a0your company?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"64fd\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">I\u2019m a\u00a0Wroclaw Development Center Director. I\u00a0am\u00a0in\u00a0charge of Marketing, Training &amp; Development teams, and HR initiatives. And yes, I\u00a0don\u2019t have time to\u00a0be\u00a0bored (laughs).<\/p>\n<p id=\"2346\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"ki jk\">What is your formal background and education? How did you end up in\u00a0IT?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"b206\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">I\u00a0have a\u00a0Master\u2019s Degree in\u00a0Sociology and I\u00a0completed postgraduate studies in\u00a0Human Resources Management in\u00a0Wales. When I\u00a0came back to\u00a0Poland, I\u00a0did another postgraduate course in\u00a0Talent Management. I\u00a0worked as\u00a0a\u00a0Junior HR Manager in\u00a0a\u00a0big manufacturing company and then I\u00a0switched to\u00a0a\u00a0chemical company \u2014\u00a0but it didn\u2019t click. I\u00a0was bothered by\u00a0how people were treated \u2014\u00a0like a\u00a0resource, not a\u00a0human capital. I\u2019ve always tried to\u00a0help people, having costs and the company\u2019s strategy in\u00a0mind at\u00a0the same time. So, I\u00a0thought to\u00a0myself \u2014\u00a0where to\u00a0look for a\u00a0job if not in\u00a0IT, famous for people caring? That\u2019s how I\u00a0had found SoftServe which I\u00a0joined as\u00a0an HR Business Partner, and then got promoted to\u00a0a\u00a0current position.<\/p>\n<p id=\"445e\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"ki jk\">How does your typical month of work look like?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"a0d2\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Because of the nature of my\u00a0job I\u00a0have flexible working hours. That means that tasks vary and are also quite flexible. I\u00a0have a\u00a0full plate \u2014\u00a0that means I\u00a0take care of everything \u2014\u00a0recruitment, employer branding strategy and initiatives, corporate culture building, and a\u00a0few other things. It\u2019s a\u00a0constant balancing between what the HQ needs and what we\u00a0can implement locally. I\u00a0approach these topics with a\u00a0healthy dose of criticism \u2014\u00a0not everything that works for other branches of the firm can and will work here. It requires a\u00a0lot of meetings, presentations, and talks about specific business cases. To\u00a0sum up, working with people is quite unpredictable. I\u00a0keep tabs on\u00a0my\u00a0calendar but every day something comes up that requires me\u00a0to\u00a0react in\u00a0real-time.<\/p>\n<p id=\"c8ee\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"ki jk\">What is your biggest success in\u00a0the IT industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"7db4\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">I\u00a0joined the IT industry just two years ago as\u00a0an HR Business Partner, learned the ropes with a\u00a0few career steps and now I\u00a0manage a\u00a0big IT company branch in\u00a0Wroclaw. By\u00a0the way, it is a\u00a0very hard and competitive market here in\u00a0Poland. I\u00a0can say I\u00a0understand the industry from both operational and delivery points of view. Not so long ago I\u00a0dreamed of running an HR department in\u00a0the IT industry. I\u00a0did that and then I\u00a0did some other things. Now I\u00a0would say it\u2019s about navigating the company through muddy and uncertain waters. We\u00a0live in\u00a0times where customer trust and internal motivation is the key to\u00a0any business activity. I\u00a0would be\u00a0proud if we\u00a0could achieve all local goals while keeping the high-level operational demands of the organizations intact. Given the global COVID-19 circumstances, that would be\u00a0quite an achievement.<\/p>\n<p id=\"c1d7\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"ki jk\">What is your professional goal?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"5e92\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph kg kh jj ki b kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks kt ku kv kw kx ky kz la lb lc ld ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">I\u00a0want to\u00a0make the DevCenter in\u00a0Wroclaw the fastest growing business unit in\u00a0our entire organization. Making it the most profitable as\u00a0well would not hurt, either (laughs).
