The rapidly increasing number of various services available within the most popular cloud providers, such as\u00a0Microsoft Azure, AWS, or\u00a0GCP, is a\u00a0great example of how quickly things can change in\u00a0the IT world. Staying up-to-date is not only an important aspect of computer software \u2014\u00a0it\u2019s also an obvious duty of every IT professional. It\u2019s also why many IT software companies invest a\u00a0lot, encouraging their employees to\u00a0constantly develop their skills, covering their expenses for participation in\u00a0conferences, training, and workshops, as\u00a0well as\u00a0giving them time to\u00a0learn new abilities. They know that even experienced and talented staff need proper conditions to\u00a0\u201cstay in\u00a0shape\u201d, to\u00a0write the best software possible.<\/p>\n

This mindset was the key cause behind establishing the Education Committee within the Software Development Association Poland \u2014\u00a0SoDA \u2014\u00a0one of the biggest Polish IT companies\u2019 associations. While there are quite a\u00a0few obvious reasons for SoDA existence \u2014\u00a0such as\u00a0cooperation between members, improving the presence of IT software companies abroad, and exchanging employees between companies with the \u2018bench\u2019 approach \u2014\u00a0a\u00a0consistent and predictable yet innovative approach to\u00a0education was required, to\u00a0broaden the level of knowledge and skills of various employees \u2014\u00a0from IT professionals, through HR, Legal, Sales departments and upper management, up to\u00a0the management boards.<\/p>\n

The Education Committee undertakes many various activities, always having one main goal in\u00a0mind \u2014\u00a0to\u00a0educate & explain the intricacies of the software development world \u2014\u00a0both within the organization (sharing the knowledge & new abilities with SoDA members), as\u00a0well as\u00a0outside \u2014\u00a0unraveling the mysteries of our businesses for other types of businesses, in\u00a0Poland and abroad.<\/p>\n

To\u00a0achieve these ambitious goals, we\u00a0apply various methods, especially in\u00a0the new reality of the world affected by\u00a0COVID-19. We\u00a0have been organizing webinars with specialists representing various types of businesses, such as\u00a0lawyers, HR professionals, managers, sales consultants, and many more. Of course, we\u00a0are not forgetting about the core of our mission \u2014\u00a0IT \u2014\u00a0and we\u00a0are striving to\u00a0improve the skills of the employees of our member companies, e.g. by\u00a0organizing invitation-only, tailor-made workshops, available thanks to\u00a0our unique relationships, like\u00a0the one with Microsoft<\/a>. All of the webinars, as\u00a0well as\u00a0a\u00a0lot of additional content, is available within our special knowledge hub \u2014\u00a0SoDA Academy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cooperation with Microsoft is a\u00a0great example of what we\u00a0do\u00a0\u2014\u00a0it\u2019s the biggest activity we\u00a0conducted so far, including not only technical events but also business-oriented webinars, as\u00a0well as\u00a0showcases of products and projects developed by\u00a0our member companies, published in\u00a0a\u00a0form of case studies in\u00a0our blog. We\u00a0are truly happy to\u00a0have this level of mutual engagement and collaboration, as\u00a0this gives new educational opportunities to\u00a0our members.<\/p>\n

Another important task we\u00a0decided to\u00a0take on\u00a0is to\u00a0make a\u00a0mark not only on\u00a0the education of our employees but also people who might just become them in\u00a0the future \u2014\u00a0the students. We\u00a0have begun wide discussions about the future of Polish Higher Education in\u00a0IT, by\u00a0starting discussions with a\u00a0few Polish Universities. The proceedings take a\u00a0long time \u2014\u00a0especially in\u00a0the COVID era \u2014\u00a0but the improvement of the current state is a\u00a0win-win-win situation \u2014\u00a0for us, for the Universities, and the students.<\/p>\n

Last but not least, we\u00a0understand education very broadly and this means teaching people & companies who might, one day, become clients of the IT industry. Since it is just a\u00a0few-decades-old industry, and it evolves rapidly, we\u00a0cannot expect that clients will simply understand what exactly it takes to\u00a0create great software \u2014\u00a0one that perfectly fits their business needs. Such a\u00a0form of education \u2014\u00a0and promotion, at\u00a0the same time \u2014\u00a0is something we\u00a0want to\u00a0achieve, spreading the association between the software of great quality and Polish software development.<\/p>\n

To\u00a0sum up, we\u00a0strongly believe that our educational activities, provided at\u00a0various levels \u2014\u00a0from students, through various levels of employees, up to\u00a0the clients \u2014\u00a0present & future \u2014\u00a0might help to\u00a0achieve the biggest goals of our association and improve the quality of software in\u00a0general.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
