We strongly believe that women play more and more significant roles in the widely understood industry. We highly support this trend \u2014 diversification means the change of the optics \u2014 finally, women will not be treated as strangers in this business \u2014 now often perceived as man\u2019s world. That is why we have launched \u201eWomen can do IT\u201d, a project presenting female leaders, managers, experts, and specialists from member companies of SoDA.<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8d4f02d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8d4f02d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We\u2019re talking with <strong>Donata Rossi<\/strong> an HR Manager from CSHARK, who is leading a team of 12 people \u2014 from HR specialists to graphic designers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What role do you play in your company?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m an HR Manager and Line Manager. I\u2019m responsible for people\u2019s daily work and growth. Regular one-on-one meetings help with that \u2014 giving people feedback and checking up on them is important in a fairly large organization. Especially when tasks in a team vary from recruitment and administrative, to financial, IT, and design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your formal background and education? How did you end up in IT?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My adventure with IT started by accident, my beginnings were in the manufacturing industry. Responding to a job ad didn\u2019t come naturally but it made me think. Professional growth and working closely with the board, with HR management perspective in a distance, sold me on it. Once you\u2019re in it, you quickly change the perspective. IT is not full of people listening to music on headphones eight hours a day. Sure, there is a fair share of introverts but the name \u201cstereotype\u201d was invented for a reason \u2014 some things are just not true. There is no\u00a0scheme, it depends on\u00a0the month and time of year. Most constant elements involve onboardings, especially now, when COVID-19 heavily defines aspects of our jobs and our clients\u2019 realities. I\u00a0also have three to\u00a0four daily scrums with different teams and weekly planning meetings. There are also company training for soft skills. I\u00a0organize them, which requires keeping up with the industry and the newest takes on\u00a0cooperation.<\/p>\n<p id=\"0f62\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph jv jw iy jx b jy jz ka kb kc kd ke kf kg kh ki kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"jx iz\">What is your biggest success in\u00a0the IT industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"7492\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph jv jw iy jx b jy jz ka kb kc kd ke kf kg kh ki kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">I\u00a0would say the trust that I\u00a0was given by\u00a0the board and my\u00a0role as\u00a0HR Manager over the years. Finding myself in\u00a0the industry wasn\u2019t easy \u2014\u00a0a\u00a0new environment, new people, new rules of engagement. I\u2019m still here, growing and managing not only HR but also new and exciting tasks.<\/p>\n<p id=\"c797\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph jv jw iy jx b jy jz ka kb kc kd ke kf kg kh ki kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"jx iz\">What is your biggest professional challenge?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"9992\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph jv jw iy jx b jy jz ka kb kc kd ke kf kg kh ki kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Definitely keeping up with the market. It\u2019s not the easiest pool for the employer. Swimming in\u00a0it requires people skills \u2014\u00a0you have to\u00a0understand IT, professionals. Knowing their expectations is the key. It helps while fighting with other companies over a\u00a0certain talent. As\u00a0you well know, there is a\u00a0lot of fighting (laughs). Observation and constant discussion about what\u2019s new and worth implementing internally are vital for any company. It\u2019s hard not only because the industry is fairly new and still defining itself. It\u2019s hard because there are multiple business needs from different directions and there\u2019s only so much talent on\u00a0the market to\u00a0meet these needs. Convincing them to\u00a0join and then keeping them long-term is not always the easiest thing to\u00a0do.<\/p>\n<p id=\"711d\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph jv jw iy jx b jy jz ka kb kc kd ke kf kg kh ki kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"jx iz\">What is your professional goal?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"8f5f\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph jv jw iy jx b jy jz ka kb kc kd ke kf kg kh ki kj kk kl km kn ko kp kq kr ks ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">I\u00a0don\u2019t have a\u00a0precise goal, like \u201cIn five years I\u00a0see myself here, because of that\u201d. With a\u00a0fast-paced industry like this, you have to\u00a0be\u00a0open to\u00a0whatever comes next. That\u2019s why I\u00a0want to\u00a0grow as\u00a0an HR Manager, especially when fulfilling these shoes didn\u2019t come naturally to\u00a0me. I\u00a0don\u2019t see myself as\u00a0a\u00a0natural-born leader. Exiting my\u00a0comfort zone for the first time took a\u00a0while but now it brings me\u00a0pure joy and is a\u00a0source of professional satisfaction. I\u00a0want to\u00a0be\u00a0a\u00a0successful leader who takes care of people and builds relationships.
