That\u2019s because they offer innovative services, including Parcel Lockers. They are parcel collecting spots available 24\/7 that don\u2019t require employees to operate them.<\/p><p id=\"b856\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The goal of collaboration between iteo (<a class=\"au mh\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sodapl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\">SoDA<\/a>\u00a0member) and InPost was to develop a mobile application that will allow the users to handle their parcels. In the future, the project is intended to grow by adding new functionalities and constant updates.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-05c8f88 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"05c8f88\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">BUSINESS NEEDS AND GOALS<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6f82dfd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6f82dfd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"43e0\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh li lj lk ll lm ln lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">One of the main business goals was to accelerate the process of package pickup, especially during holiday seasons, when the number of orders and the demand for lockers is much higher. This way, InPost would not only make their clients\u2019 lives easier, but they would also increase the number of deliveries. Remote locker opening can reduce the lines in front of Parcel Lockers and also it leaves out the verification process (from the perspective of the user, of course) which requires entering or scanning a barcode.<\/p><p id=\"f1b0\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Another important goal was to completely give up text messages with parcel pickup codes. This solution was highly ineffective cost-wise (InPost was sending tens of millions text messages monthly!) and also was risky in terms of potential frauds.<\/p><p id=\"dec8\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The Client came to iteo with a clear plan \u2014 they wanted a flawless mobile app for their services. Good preparation before the beginning of the project was particularly crucial because the iteo team knew exactly what they needed to do. They also suggested specific ways to develop certain functionalities but at the same time, they were open for counseling from iteo regarding changes and updates.<\/p><p id=\"16fe\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The brief included many functions:<\/p><ul class=\"\"><li id=\"8e9f\" class=\"mi mj iy lg b lh mc ll md lp mk lt ml lx mm mb mn mo mp mq ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Parcel tracking<\/li><li id=\"2896\" class=\"mi mj iy lg b lh mr ll ms lp mt lt mu lx mv mb mn mo mp mq ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Remote Parcel Locker opening<\/li><li id=\"79fe\" class=\"mi mj iy lg b lh mr ll ms lp mt lt mu lx mv mb mn mo mp mq ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Order history<\/li><li id=\"5584\" class=\"mi mj iy lg b lh mr ll ms lp mt lt mu lx mv mb mn mo mp mq ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">InPost spots map<\/li><li id=\"8760\" class=\"mi mj iy lg b lh mr ll ms lp mt lt mu lx mv mb mn mo mp mq ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">News display<\/li><\/ul><p id=\"b164\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Thanks to the efficient cooperation between iteo developers, designers and InPost team, the application for both Android and iOS gave InPost Clients a way to significantly speed up the process of parcel pickup. This way they made their service even more convenient to use.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8503628 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8503628\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">TEAM, TIMELINE &amp; COOPERATION MODEL<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0daa6c8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0daa6c8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"bdf0\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh li lj lk ll lm ln lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The team, Inpost\u2019s &amp; Iteo\u2019s, cooperated from the very beginning as one team towards the common goal of development and growth of the app.<\/p><p id=\"01cd\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The team included Product Owner, Project Manager with Scrum Master role, Mobile Team Leader, 3 mobile developers for each Technology (iOS and Android), User Experience Designer, Product Designer, Backend Developer, Backend Architect and 3 testers.<\/p><p id=\"7090\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The beginning of collaboration and work on version 1 started in mid 2018. Version 2 was released in November 2019.<\/p><p id=\"f239\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Collaboration with the client was led according to Agile and SCRUM methodology. We began with our original work tool which is Product Workshops. Also, we often met up with the Client to create and clarify the concept of the product and its functionalities. During the project, sprints are held every 2 weeks.<\/p><p id=\"bd8d\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Every other week we organize meetings \u2014 once remotely, other times at the Client\u2019s headquarters. During these meetings, iteo and InPost teams plan the next steps, discuss the demo and perform retrospection.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7b6be50 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7b6be50\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">DESIGN<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e0602c0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e0602c0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"8ca2\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh li lj lk ll lm ln lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Designing the application began with Product Workshops. The assumption was that they would last one day, but the client asked to extend them for another day in order to refine the functionality. The application prototype was prepared on the basis of the scope determined during the workshop. It was assessed internally by the InPost team. The result of these activities was the creation of MVP (Minimum Viable Product) that included basic and most important functionalities.<\/p><p id=\"06e0\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">After creating a second prototype (based on MVP), iteo team designed UX to track shipments and other side components of the application \u2014 only those that represented business value for InPost were implemented. In the second version, the structure of the application remained unchanged, but it was redesigned according to the company\u2019s brand book, including color consistency and the use of new fonts.<\/p><p id=\"537c\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">A brand hero called Mat was also designed. It is a character that looks like a parcel, but its main purpose is to communicate with the user.<\/p><p id=\"315b\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Currently, cooperation in this area consists of ad hoc consultations and engaging UX or product designers only when necessary.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-06377a9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"06377a9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">TECHNOLOGIES<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0d071af elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0d071af\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"cc3a\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh li lj lk ll lm ln lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The project included the development of two native mobile applications for Android and iOS devices. The backend part was coded in Java.<\/p><p id=\"9bf3\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">For Android, the app was written using Kotlin Framework. It included libraries like Dagger (dependency injection), RxJava (creating asynchronous apps), Retrofit (for easier communication with API), Firebase (receiving push notifications and collecting analytical data) and many more.<\/p><p id=\"95a8\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">For iOS, the app was written with the Swift Framework. The most important libraries were, for example, SwiftLint (partial automatization of code review), Realm (easy to use databases), Firebase, Lottie (graphic animations), Hero (animations between views) and many more.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-52e433c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"52e433c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">QUALITY ASSURANCE<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d4f58ff elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d4f58ff\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"50e0\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh li lj lk ll lm ln lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The testing procedure in the project was carried out following the setlist of the most important functionalities, through which testers on iteo and InPost side went through before releasing each subsequent version of the application.<\/p><p id=\"d43a\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">There were also manual field tests at the Parcel Lockers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a0925a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1a0925a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">INNOVATION<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2d0fb93 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2d0fb93\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Remote Parcel Locker opening<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4a9ea11 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4a9ea11\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"9c49\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh li lj lk ll lm ln lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">This functionality is definitely something innovative when it comes to the logistics industry. Implementation was anticipated from the beginning of our collaboration, and it was shared with the users with the app\u2019s version 2 release. Remote locker opening fulfills the business goal directly because it allows the users to quickly collect their packages which means that InPost can deliver even more of them.<\/p><p id=\"05d9\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The Client wished that the process of parcel collecting was as similar as possible in the mobile application and on the Parcel Locker. The goal was to simplify the process for people who already knew it from Parcel Lockers. For this exact reason, the arrangement of buttons is quite similar but some elements had to be cut off due to smartphone screens being much smaller than computer screens in Parcel Lockers.<\/p><p id=\"608e\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The process of remote parcel collecting is strictly designed to not interrupt the Client\u2019s system. That\u2019s very important because some of the solutions we considered could overload the InPost system with too many requests per second.<\/p><p id=\"7927\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Remote Parcel Locker\u2019s opening functionality was highly praised by InPost clients. They are the leader of logistic services in Poland and their engagement in introducing better and more innovative solutions are appreciated by the users. Also, their attentiveness to client satisfaction is undeniable.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-473efa7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"473efa7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">PERFORMANCE<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eabfe1c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eabfe1c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"9a47\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh li lj lk ll lm ln lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The result is a simple, intuitive and modern mobile application for Android and iOS. It allows customers to track shipments, open Parcel Lockers remotely without queuing and entering verification codes, as well as to keep up to date with the latest news or technical breaks.<\/p><p id=\"13c0\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The first version of the application was created from the very beginning \u2014 both on the development and design side. The second version received additional functionalities and redesign.<\/p><p id=\"e6f5\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The currently available version of the application is numbered 2.3.0. The application is constantly improved and developed for new features.<\/p><p id=\"1243\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">At the moment, the application is directed only to the Polish market, however, the Client does not exclude expansion to foreign markets and adapting the application for its services in other countries.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6de84b1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"6de84b1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Outcome and KPIs<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-39df150 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"39df150\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"cae8\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh li lj lk ll lm ln lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">InPost application won the main prize at Mobile Trends Awards (called mobile Oscars) and became the app of the year 2019. It was also recognized in the \u2018Service\u2019 category, also as no 1.<\/p><p id=\"eb5e\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Application has now over 3mln downloads with a daily dynamic increase due to huge demand for indirect goods delivery and collection.<\/p><p id=\"3fa1\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Both versions of the application for a long time remained first places in polish Google and Apple stores.<\/p><p id=\"b2e8\" class=\"pw-post-body-paragraph le lf iy lg b lh mc lj lk ll md ln lo lp me lr ls lt mf lv lw lx mg lz ma mb ir ga\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">With over 100,000 users using the application every day, almost 100% encounter no problems at all.
